Petals on the Wind (Dollanganger #2) by V.C. Andrews

If you were intrigued by The Flowers in the Attic, you will not be disappointed with the sequel Petals on the Wind. The story is set in the point of view of Cathy who continues the tale of the lives of the Doll children as they set out to get away from the horrid attic they once were entrapped in. There was not a dull moment throughout the book. Just when you think the story begins to slow down, massive curveballs will be thrown at you from all angles. There were many times when I had to stop and reread because I felt like I had to have missed a paragraph leading up to that curveball. The author knows how to keep a reader enticed through the events that take place between the siblings. Compared to the first book there is a larger focus towards the romantic side of their lives. Choices are made, and the effects are nerve-racking. My overall opinion of the book would be that while it was a very intriguing story, I would not necessarily read it again in the future, so I give the book an overall score of 3.
