Wrap up of my Bout of Books 13

Bout of Books 13 has come to an end 😦

For those who do not know what Bout of Books is, here is the official blurb:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 11th and runs through Sunday, May 17th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. This has been my first one that I have participated in, and I will say that I had a lot of fun with this read-a-thon. I know that it pushed me to read more than I would have in the past week. One aspect of Bout of Books that I really liked was how easy going it was. I didn’t feel pressured or stressed to finish a book or read a certain amount of pages. I could read when I wanted, and for however long I could stay awake.

I only wished I had more time within the week that I could have read. I ended up having to pack and move all of my stuff from my college dorm to my house which took up a lot of time and energy. But, I did have a few times where I power read for hours on end! As you will be able to tell, I was unable to read the 4 books that I used as an open-ended goal, but that’s why it is called open-ended! 🙂 I really enjoyed Bout of Books 13.

Would I participate in the next Bout of Books?: ABSOLUTELY!!!

What would I change for next time?: For next time, I will physically set time aside to read if I end up being busy. I want to make sure that I read as much as I can in the entire week. Looking back, there were a few times I could have pushed myself to grab my book, but ended up doing other less-important things instead. But no big deal as this was only my first time experiencing a reading challenge. Bout of Books 14 better watch out for this girl! 🙂

This has been a lot of fun for me to read as much as I could, and be able to fill you guys in on my progress. I would highly recommend every reader to try and participate in the next Bout of Books. Even if you can only read for a day or two, it really helps to push you to pick up a book whenever you have the chance!

For those of you who are interested in joining in on the fun next round, the date for the upcoming Bout of Books 14 is from 17 August 2015 – 23 August 2015. It starts on the Monday at 12:00 am and continues all the way through the following Sunday at 11:59 pm. It is so much fun! It is an easy excuse to attack that TBR pile and maybe even buy a few books for your collection!
