July 2016 Book Haul

Over this last month, I was able to go on a few small book-buying splurges, and let’s just say my Funko collection may have grown just a littleI can’t believe there are just a few weeks left of the summer! July has been CRAZY with all of the errands I’ve needed in order to prep for my first semester of Nursing school. *eekk!*

I am so excited to finally leave the boring GenEds behind and get into the real nitty-gritty. But with my busy school schedule will come a little less time getting to splurge on my reading times, but that’s ok.

Anyways, I know you’ve been waiting for a book haul, and I gotta say that there are some really awesome bookish items that await!

I bought a lot of bookish items on top of just a few actual books. So let’s get the fun started.

The Witch Hunter (The Witch Hunter #1) by Virginia Boecker | B&N |

The magic and suspense of Graceling meet the political intrigue and unrest of Game of Thrones in this riveting fantasy debut.

Your greatest enemy isn’t what you fight, but what you fear.

Elizabeth Grey is one of the king’s best witch hunters, devoted to rooting out witchcraft and doling out justice. But when she’s accused of being a witch herself, Elizabeth is arrested and sentenced to burn at the stake.

Salvation comes from a man she thought was her enemy. Nicholas Perevil, the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the kingdom, offers her a deal: he will save her from execution if she can break the deadly curse that’s been laid upon him.

But Nicholas and his followers know nothing of Elizabeth’s witch hunting past–if they find out, the stake will be the least of her worries. And as she’s thrust into the magical world of witches, ghosts, pirates, and one all-too-handsome healer, Elizabeth is forced to redefine her ideas of right and wrong, of friends and enemies, and of love and hate.

Virginia Boecker weaves a riveting tale of magic, betrayal, and sacrifice in this unforgettable fantasy debut.”

Dorothy Must Die Stories: Vol 2 (Dorothy Must Die #0.4 – 0.6) by Danielle Paige

Before the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow became Dorothy’s henchmen in Dorothy Must Die

The Wizard was gone, Dorothy had returned home to Kansas, and Oz was left a changed place. Glinda the Good Witch set the three friends on their new paths: the Scarecrow would now rule the Emerald City with his new brain, the Tin Woodman and his heart would travel to the land of the Winkies to become their leader, and the Lion would put his courage to good use as the King of Beasts.

But in a place like Oz, where magic and temptation lurk around every corner, the gifts from the Wizard begin to take on a life of their own…

This bind-up of three prequel novellas to the New York Times Bestselling Dorothy Must Die series follows the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Lion as they evolve from Dorothy’s beloved friends into something almost Wicked.”
