  1. I found the author tried to compact a lot of information into very wordy sentences that didn’t add much to the story. It felt disjointed at times and I felt that the main character wasn’t that easy to engage with. There were moment I was lost in visual discription and was jolted out of the storyline from either a odd change in mood or strangely placed information. The story itself was all right and I know I can be over-critical at times. Since this is a first book I will give her the benefit and hope her second one is better…
