Even though it has felt like FOREVER, it has only been nearly three weeks since I have been able to sit myself down and read an actual book. So to help bring back the reading kick AND to start off 2018, I will be kicking into full gear with the Bout of Books 21 Read-a-thon!
This will be my ninth consecutive participation in one of my all-time favorite read-a-thons ever (..besides my random 24-hour ones of course). If you’re new around my blog, you may be asking yourself what a ‘Bout of Books” is?
Here is the official blurb from the creators of this tri-annual reading celebration:
“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 8th and runs through Sunday, January 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 21 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team”
So pretty much, you can join in a week-long reading party where all you have to do is pick up any ol’ book and just READ!
Which is why I love participating and sharing my progress with y’all. Zero hassle.
What are my goals?
Even though goals aren’t needed for this week, I still hope to accomplish a small pile of books. I am planning on reading at least 3 books:
- Artemis by Andy Weir
- Flamecaster (Shattered Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima
- Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns #1) by Kendare Blake
Since my reading mood has been all over the place lately, you may see a completely different TBR-pile next week, but for now, these three are waiting on my bookshelf for the clock to strike midnight.
Who can join?
As you may have read above, EVERYONE is free to join in! What I love about this read-a-thon is that there are NO goals, NO stress, and NO pressure. The whole idea of this week is to READ. That’s it! Just pick up any type of book and read as much as your heart desires.
So, when is this again?
This begins Monday January 8th at 12:00am in your own time zone and runs all the way through Sunday January 14th at 11:59pm.
Beginning Tuesday after the start of the read-a-thon, I will be updating you on all of my progress daily during the entire week.
What books are you going to be setting aside for the read-a-thon?? Whether you are joining in on the fun or not, you can feel free to leave your personal reading status in the comments at any time.
