I have been in such a mood for horror stories that when I finally was able to pick this book up I was excited.
This book in itself is a collection of short stories featuring various hauntings. Now since these are shorter, chapter-long stories, we only get a snip-bit into what is going on which honestly makes the collection more riveting.
I do have to say that I read this quick read in the middle of a bright, sunny day, so I think that this may have altered my overall reading experience. With that being said, the scary factor in this was about a 3/5. I think that if I were to have read this in a dark, moonlit room all by myself, that I would have had more of the heart-pounding factor. *This collection is specifically geared for the younger readers and is purposefully given a lighter horror feel.*
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. I was pleasantly entertained through each of the hauntings. My favorite by far was the Manor on the Rocks with the dark twist at the end. Each chapter is unique to itself while also bringing the entire anthology together. My horror mood has been satisfied until the Halloween season.
