As I’m sure you can tell from all the blog posts, but I am a huge fan of read-a-thons! What other perfect excuse can you give for staying at home all day and just let you mind wander into whole new worlds?
And it’s that time of year again where you get an entire week dedicated to only reading. It’s like an extended vacay on a bookish island!
So for those of you who may be new to this read-a-thon, here is the official blurb:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 26th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 23 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
What are my reading plans?
- Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas *part of the Throne of Thoughts Read-a-thon*
- Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas *also part of the Throne of Thoughts Read-a-thon*
- Unleashed by Bella Jacobs
- Eternity’s Echo (Shade Master #1) by Evan Hirson
- Zenith (Androma Saga #1) by Sasha Alsberg & Lindsey Cummings
- Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu
One of the convenient parts of this read-a-thon is that you don’t have to commit to a solid TBR. Since I am such a mood reader, it is possible that I could re-arrange the books as I go, but my biggest goal is to read ALOT.
For this round, I do have a page goal of roughly 1,500 pages. If I read every book on my TBR, I will be way above this number! *yay*
But since I am a mood reader AND I have a semi-free week of reading for the next few days, this TBR pile has a very high chance of changing.
Who can join?
As you may have read above, EVERYONE is free to join in! What I love about this read-a-thon is that there are NO goals, NO stress, and NO pressure. The whole idea of this week is to READ and just enjoy the world of books. That’s it! Just pick up any type of book and read as much as your heart desires.
So, when does this EPIC week begin?
This begins Monday August 20th at 12:00am in your own time zone and runs all the way through Sunday August 26th at 11:59pm.
Beginning Tuesday after the start of the read-a-thon, I will be updating you on all of my progress daily during the entire week.
What’s your reading goal?? Whether you are joining in on the fun or not, you can feel free to leave your personal reading status in the comments at any time.
