It’s time for another bookish unboxing! And for this month, there are awesome, bookish items from stories such as Harry Potter, Kiss of Deception, and Grim Lovelies!
If you aren’t familiar with this box, it is a Young Adult book box featuring a monthly read along with other bookish goodies to help get you in the spirit for the monthly theme. This is a monthly subscription that I pay for myself, and if you’d like more information on the payment plans along with more testimonials, click HERE to visit Owlcrate’s official site.
I’ve been unboxing these every month for a few years now, and no matter what’s inside, I’m always giddy to see!
Here is what was inside the Masters of Disguise box:
As I opened the box, I was greeted with the monthly info card featuring the fun, themed-print. On the back on the card includes all the juicy details of each item picked for the box.
Underneath, the first thing I saw was this pair of fingerless gloves inspired by Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I’ll be in secret Crow style while staying warm while roaming through Ketterdam.
These were created exclusively by the Owlcrate Team, and their in perfect time for the chilly weather.
The next item was featured in last month’s unboxing, and is one that I’m super excited to sip my hot cocoa from this winter!
This ceramic mug was designed by Cara Kozik and features the scenes from Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling!!
Bonus if you can tell which chapters they from!
Loved the Kiss of Deception series by Mary E. Pearson as much as I did??
I’ll be using this apple mint lip balm to keep my lips from being bitten by that fall breeze. It was created by GeekFireLabs exclusively for this box!
And what’s a sweater outfit without a little touch of gold to help pop out of those new gloves?
This mini nail polish comes from Grim Lovelies by Megan Shephard which released on October 2nd.
Who loves the occasional self-care night?
Well I’ll be able to soak up after a long day at work with this exclusive bath soak inspired by The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid. This mix was created by Leeloo Soaps.
And the final bookish item in the box is an art print by Kristy Carter.
Did you recognize Lila Bard from the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab?
As with the recent boxes, this month’s is no different. Inside also includes a fun little handout with more exclusive looks at each of the items and a few stories behind their inspiration!
And don’t forget that collector’s button!!
And now, for the book of the month..

Mirage (Mirage #1) by Somaiya Daud!
“In a star system dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, eighteen-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation; she dreams of writing poetry like the old-world poems she adores; she dreams of receiving a sign from Dihya that one day, she, too, will have adventure, and travel beyond her isolated moon.
But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects: she is kidnapped by the regime and taken in secret to the royal palace, where she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram. The princess is so hated by her conquered people that she requires a body double, someone to appear in public as Maram, ready to die in her place.
As Amani is forced into her new role, she can’t help but enjoy the palace’s beauty—and her time with the princess’ fiancé, Idris. But the glitter of the royal court belies a world of violence and fear. If Amani ever wishes to see her family again, she must play the princess to perfection…because one wrong move could lead to her death.”
