The Alpha Prince

Brutality and tradition are a way of life for ferocious tribe leader, Kardos. Born different from the other princes, he strives to be the best – to earn his place and prove his worth.

After negotiating for a rare Omega not seen in his Land for over one hundred years, he is keen to present her to the High Chief and gain the recognition he deserves.

It doesn’t matter that she has mesmerizing beauty, or that her manner is too mild for his culture. It doesn’t matter that deep down, a craving burns strong to keep her for himself.

She must accept her fate – and so must he.

The Omega Gift

Sheltered all her life, Omega Shaya found joy in the gardens of her home, the protection of her sister, and the simplicity of her life.

But when the decision to save her sister suddenly puts her in the possession of a fierce tribal warrior, she begins to understand that life can be savage, and painful, and complex.

Alone, and with no way to protect herself, Shaya is determined to overcome the harsh treatment of a culture she doesn’t understand, but when she finds herself attracted to the Alpha’s dominance, she has to find a way to resist him so he doesn’t break her completely; body, mind, and heart.

I completely devoured this book in one sitting!

But first, I do have to add in a trigger warning for rape and abuse. Throughout the book, we find the two characters having nonconsentual intercourse on the girl’s end, so please be advised that this may be a sensitive subject to some readers.

After volunteering to take her sister’s place as a gift to the Alpha prince, the main female character is quickly whisked onto his ship to be taken back to his homeland. To be honest, when I first started reading this book, I got major Game of Throne vibes with focus more on Khal Drogo‘s character.

The male character is one of the land’s strongest leaders and we quickly find out just how possessive he is of his new traveling companion. I wasn’t a fan of his character at first due to the harsh conditions he puts her through, but as a fictional story, he began to grow on me. If you love primal and a bit rough romances, this book is for you.

And boy does the romance start right off the bat!

I will say that even though I’m not a fan of reading nonconsensual scenes, this book had me completely consumed. There isn’t any ‘violence’ when it comes to these scenes, but there is that rough, almost demanding, quality that goes on between the love interests.

The romance between the two is mostly displayed on his side at first, and then her side begins to boil as she becomes more comfortable with her situation. I could tell that she was getting more into the idea of them together towards the end of the book, and I think true feelings began to emerge on both ends. Overall, I enjoyed getting to see their slow burning connection.

The writing style displays the fantasy elements rather well. We are thrown into the idea of possible magic surrounding Omegas and their ability to release a special scent. The book was easy to read, and evened out between the journey on the ship and the many, growing steamy moments between the two.

We get to dive into her struggles in having to obey her new capture and the culture’s harsh ways. About halfway through the book, the tone switches into a softer mood as mistakes are uncovered.

The ending was a major cliffhanger, and I will definitely be picking up the next book in this couple’s series as soon as I can! And don’t let the fact that this is the seventh book in the series intimidate you. I have not read any of the previous books, and I felt like I was able to follow along just fine. As stated in the synopsis above, this is the couple’s first book, and man, did I love it!
