During the beginning of this book, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. If you are sensitive to domestic abuse, the background for this story may not be suitable for you. At first, I though the initial couple was going to be the main plot, but thankfully, that wasn’t the case.

Instead, the book shifts into steamy, passionate scenes and a more ‘healthier’ couple. And boy, was there steam!

I was immediately drawn to them, and their chemistry is addicting. There are darker components to the story, and there is a plot shift towards the second third of the book that I wasn’t expecting.

I gave this romance 4 out of 5 stars. The characters bring out an array of emotions from loathing to swooning, and the writing just draws you in! Even though the relationship forms rather quickly, I still loved reading every word of it.

I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a darker, erotic romance, perfect for a bedtime story!
