Remaking Christmas by Derra Snow is a second-chance Adult Contemporary Romance between a reader and a writer set during the Christmas season.
“Ada’s love life is a wreck. She knows true love and happily-ever-afters only exist in the books she reads.
It’s Christmas again. For the first time, she’s going to Green Mountain Inn to get away from her woes. But there’s not the only reason. It’s her favorite romance author Patricia Millett’s rumored hangout spot.
There, Ada runs into Warren, a charming guy, who’s also has his share of woes. But there’s more to Warren than just his good looks, something Ada could never imagine. And Ada soon finds herself lured by the hope of romance that has failed her terribly before. Will Warren restore trust her trust in love or become yet another mistake?”
This was a short, sweet novella.
Since it is only told within 69 pages, there wasn’t too much development between the characters, but it was enough to tell an enjoyable story.
I loved the circumstances that brought the two together for the holidays. Each has a secret from their past which leads to the perfectly executed plot twist that I had no idea was coming.
I gave this one 3 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the Christmas season as it’s one of my favorites to celebrate. The writing brings a cozy, warm-filled vibe that is perfect for the hot, summer nights I’ve been facing lately.
When it comes to the romance, it is on the lighter side. If you are looking for a steamy read, this one isn’t what you may want to pick up next, BUT if you are in the mood for a lighter, innocent romance, be sure to pick up this quick read!
