Dark Alpha’s Redemption (Reaper #8) by Donna Grant

Dark Alpha’s Redemption by Donna Grant is an Adult Fantasy Romance out now!

45320393.jpgThere is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…

My duty to Death drives me forward. I’ve never once strayed from my path – not even when the future seemed uncertain. However, Maeve’s intelligence, cunning and determination challenges me in ways I never imagined. Finding out what she knows is the key to learning how to conquer our enemy. The Dark Fae breathes new life into me unlike anything I’ve ever known. For Maeve, I will risk trusting the Dark. For her…I will battle darkness itself.

This is the first book from this series that I’ve read, and I think I missed a lot of the backstory. The characters seemed to be well-played out, but I felt like I came into the middle of conversation.

The story did progress rather well creating an interesting fantasy world. There are a ton of questions that I would like to go back and discover in the first books.

I gave this one 3 out of 5 stars. The plot was fast-paced, but with the lack of background information, it did take me quite a bit of time to figure out what was going on.

The romance was rapid and engaging. I’d recommend this book for fans of darker, fantasy romance readers.
