Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is the first in a YA Historical Mystery series where each both follows a specific person in time!
“Presented by James Patterson’s new children’s imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion…
Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.
The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling, #1 New York Times bestselling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.”

How I Read It: Hardcover from Library
If you love forensics and the YA genre, this mashup is a fantastic series to get into this Fall.
Each book follows a historical character with a dark, creepy, murder mystery adventure, and of course, this book features Jack the Ripper during the 1800s London.
It does contain moderately-described, gory details when it comes to the murders that happen multiple times throughout the novel. I absolutely loved every minute of this story from the main, strong feminism to the awesome forensics woven in.
There’s also a hint of romance, but it’s not the central focus of the story.
If you love gothic vibes, you will also really enjoy this one. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars.
