When I heard the synopsis of this story, I was hooked! And not only because it’s a DARK romance retelling either!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to become fully invested in the story. The writing just felt like I was missing something and seemed to pick up in a spot that left me hanging out to dry. So I ended up DNF-ing it a few chapters in.

I do think that the concept was very interesting, and I don’t want to discredit that maybe if I would have pushed through a little more, I may have found that spark..
