I have been wanting to re-read this series for so long, and I’ve finally decided to make it this month’s binge reading!
So, what’s a ‘Binge Read’?
Every month, I plan on bingeing / finishing a series that has been on my TBR for awhile.
Consider this a loosely-organized book club where every Saturday will feature a review of each book until the series is complete!
More about April’s pick?
I read this series back in high school when it first released. It was one of the few book club picks I remember, and ever since then, I’ve been hooked!
It has everything from vampires to witches to magic to time travel, and completely took me by storm! I will say that even though I read it in a high school book club. the content may be a little mature for some younger readers as the writing contains sexual content.
But, there is so much nostalgia behind these pages; every time I hear about this series, it gives me all the innocent vibes, even though this book is far from innocent..
.. and no, I have yet to see the TV adaptation.
And this month’s Binge Reads pick is..
The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness!
“Deep in the stacks of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library. Diana has stumbled upon a coveted treasure lost for centuries-and she is the only creature who can break its spell.”
