These boxes have a ton of awesome bookish goodies inside, so let’s get down to business (hehe, did you get the Disney reference there. I promise, it wasn’t planned).

For the month of July, the theme for the box was Strange and Unusual, and some of these items are definitely on point!

The first item in the box is this pennant flag inspired from the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs!

This is currently featured on my spooky shelf to help showcase one of my favorite peculiar series. It is created by the artist, Risa Rodil. ‘Stay Peculiarmy bookish friends!

The next bookish item was featured on the June box’s spoiler card.

It is a Funko Pop Keychain inspired from the rather strange Netflix series, Stranger Things. My box contained Eleven, but I know other boxes may have gotten Dustin.

I still have yet to watch this, but I’ve heard it’s really good! What do you think; should I binge watch it next??

Want to be able to showcase your booknerd style out on the town?

Well you can with this next item which is a wallet designed from Reverie and Ink, made exclusively for this box!

Next up is a rather pointy item that is perfect for the upcoming school year!

And finally for the book of the month:

My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand & Jodi Meadows & Brodi Asthon

You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love—and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)

Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.”

And that’s it for the July Unboxing!

And before we get to the August Unboxing, here is the hint to what’s below!

For the month of August, the theme for the box was Ruthless Royals!

The first royal items in this box was the hint from the July box.

And it’s a Craftedvan magnetic bookmark featuring some of the most famous evil queens! I absolutely love these bookmarks, and you can believe I’ll be using these on my next read!!

The next item is a gemstone ring to show off your royal jewels to the kingdom as this is made from a real Agate stone!

This item is made by GeoCentral.

And what’s a royal box without a storybook?

This cute tin book is made from Stella Bookish Art featuring quotes from Holly Black’s The Cruel Prince!

‘I like for things to happen… stories to unfold. And if I can’t find a good enough story, I make one.’

‘I am a mere mortal and you are a prince of faeire… you have much to lose and I have nothing.’

Now what’s a royal without making sure that you look good for court?

This is a pocket mirror inspired by Dhonielle Clayton’s The Belles by Catarina Book Designs! ‘May you always find Beauty.’

And this next item is from one of my favorite fantasy series (Which I’m currently reading).

This bookish item is a tea towel made by Little Inklings Design featuring a quote from The Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas! ‘She had often wished for adventure, for old spells and wicked kings.’

Inside this box, there was an ad card for Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows which was actually a previous Owlcrate book of the month. On the back featured this fun quote: ‘I wanted freedom in the same way I wanted my next breath: an unspoken but constant desire.”

The final bookish item in the box was the collector’s pin featuring the info card art!

And now for the book of the month:

Grace and Fury (Grace and Fury #1) by Tracy Banghart

img_0562

In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi Tessaro face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other in prison.

Serina has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace – someone to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. But when her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, catches the heir’s eye, it’s Serina who takes the fall for the dangerous secret that Nomi has been hiding.

Now trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one way to save Serina: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to release her sister. This is easier said than done. A traitor walks the halls of the palace, and deception lurks in every corner. But Serina is running out of time, imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive and one wrong move could cost her everything.
